Admissions

For a place at Long Field Academy

Parents of pupils in Year 6 have until 31st October 2020 to submit an application for a secondary school place for the 2021-22 academic year. You can find out more about the Local Authority’s admissions policy – including for in-year admissions – by clicking here.

Please Note: If you wish your child to come to Long Field, you need to put us as your first choice school, whether you live in the catchment areas or not.

If you would like to look around the Academy during the school day, a member of the Senior Leadership Team would be more than happy to provide you with an individual tour.

We also offer a detailed transition programme for year 5 and 6 pupils to enable them to feel as confident as possible when starting at Long Field. We understand that this can be an anxious time for both parents and children and so we would like to make this as smooth as possible. In addition to the work we do year round with our partner primary schools, we also provide monthly workshops on Wednesdays 4pm – 5.15pm.

Our year 7 students and parents regularly comment on how valuable these workshops were in helping both parents and children feel part of the Academy very quickly. If you would like further information about these then please contact Rebecca Langford at the Academy or email primaryworkshops@longfield.leics.sch.uk

Should you have further questions or if you wish to come and look around the Academy then please contact Chris Haggett, Principal on 01664 561234 or by email chaggett@longfield.leics.sch.uk
Our normal operational PAN number for all other year groups is 160 students.

For the school year 2020/2021 we are taking 20 students over our PAN of 160 into Year 7. This will give us a total of 180 students.
