Welcome back! And to the parents of our new Year 7 students, welcome to Titan House!
It has been a very busy start as usual to the new academic year for both staff and students. Year 7s have begun to feel truly settled at Long Field and have made lots of new friends; the staff are eager to embed new idea; House groups have begun to decorate their notice boards and the Titan Student Leaders are busy adapting to their new roles in school.
I have been incredibly impressed with the new Titan student leadership team. These students have surpassed my expectations in both their professionalism and attitude towards their new roles. Their first task came at the end of last year when they helped to run the induction days for our new Year 7 students. They made all of our new students feel at ease and helped myself to make sure that they all settled into life at Long Field smoothly. Since then, they have been busy updating the Titan House board, developing competitions, planning the delivery of assemblies as well as making themselves at home in the shared Student Leader office!
Each week there are different competitions that Titan complete in against the other houses, Pegasus, Phoenix and Leo. With the success of Sports Day 2017 where Titan claimed the title, they are keen to maintain that success and have gotten off to a great start. They are also racing up the table and are currently in second place with the most house points in the school, however there is still a big push. So please encourage and motivate your sons and daughters to gain more points!

Titan House Charity
We are pleased to announce that Titan House will be supporting the ‘Make-A-Wish Foundation’. Titan House will be working hard to raise funds for this charity through House activities and competitions.
For many families the Make-A-Wish memory can be the last happy memory they have of their child having fun in a magical world, surrounded by family and friends – rather than memories of days and weeks of painful treatments and hospitalisation. The memory of the wish may be of their child laughing and enjoying being a princess or zoo keeper for the day or meeting a favourite celebrity. In years to come, the family can look back and remember that special time.
